Im not quite sure why, but highlighters and markers have long been my preferred media for sketching ideas. I love the bright colors, thickness and the ability to layer, but I think it is really the casual and fun nature of these instruments that puts me at ease. You can't get too serious, so your mind and hand are allowed to wander and play. I'll often come back in later with colored pens (or more markers!) to refine my original ideas, but the bright lines always serve as a happy base. Here are a few pattern plans that have yet to come to fruition....so for now they live in meandering marker blueprints.

There are likely more scribbled pages of sketchbook in this vein than any other. I think of these fancies as my dream closet. Perhaps, someday I'll find the dream pieces(or finally get around to printing my own fabric and learning to sew...), but for now they live in my sketches (and some in my real closet!). So here's what I've been longing for lately... (the blue kimono gal is my favorite)
